UNDEFINED_FOR
STATEMENT
For the artist behind undefined_for, the work departs from a search for the right to exist within a society in which stable structures for orientation and support are absent. Where belief once provided frameworks that enabled trust and surrender, a void now remains around containment, safety and existential rest.
The sculptural objects refer to sacred forms — such as arches — not from conviction, but from a bodily and existential knowing. These forms function as structures of containment and protection, detached from religious promise.
Through material — stones, fossils, rock carvings, preserved artworks and architecture — the artist experiences a direct connection to history and time. These carriers communicate without language and place the individual within a continuum larger than the self.
The work exists in a constant state of searching, between destruction and healing, surrender and control. Surfaces remain raw, brutal and unfiltered. Fracture, erosion and imperfection are not corrected, but allowed.
Clay functions as a medium to make this search tangible. The objects remain as residues — fossils of a personal inner process — not to explain, but to bear witness to an attempt to exist.
